First of all, we're super happy to announce the Podcast is done! It's taken bloody ages I know, but this definately gives us more incentive to get more mixes out there. To Subscribe to Skull Juice Radio (original name huh) with iTunes, just click HERE or go to the 'Advanced' tab and then 'Subscribe To Podcast'. When asked for the address, enter http://www.skulljuice.com/mp3s/podcast.xml - you can use the same address with other podcast software too. So far there's Episodes 1-3 and a couple of edited mixes...Episode 4, mixed by myself, will be available in the next few days. Get your Subscribe on!

In other self-promotional news, Walk The Night will return on Friday January 26th. Yep, that's right its now on Fridays, and its also no longer weekly but monthly. So get down to the Redstar in Camberwell on the last Friday of each month for weirdness and dancing.
It's been a little too long since our last post, so I'll try and make up for it with some tasty musical nuggets. My brain isn't working particularly well today so please excuse my lame attempts at describing the music...

First up is our boy SebastiAn (definately our most posted artist) and his rendition of Kavinsky's classic (in our opinion anyway) 'Testarossa Autodrive'. The original is a glittering, shades-on 80's electro stomper with a classic riff...of which SebastiAn has unfortunately made rather little of. We're huge fans of his, but this is no way as memorable as his mixes for Annie or Mylo (which has just been released, a must have), in which he really flips the script and goes crazy. This just seems a bit generic, and we're a little disappointed. He uses the great riff, but doesn't really add much other than big old drums (as he does...and which we of course like!). I reckon if you've not heard the original you'd love this, and we'll still play it out...but the fact remains it's when SebastiAn strays from the beaten path is when his best music emerges

Ok now for a biggie...NEW LCD SOUNDSYSTEM!

Woo-the-fuck-hoo, we got our hands on the 'Sound Of Silver' promo a few weeks back and it's been on heavy rotation since. In fact there's only one track I find myself skipping (which oddly is being released as the first single: 'North American Scum'). It's cool hearing Mr. Murphy trying out a few new styles on this album...especially with the way he sings. Another nice bonus is that he's made a vocal version of part 2 of his 45:33 track (which, if you've not heard, is absolutely stunning). I'm not going to post that though, I'm opting for the album opener 'Get Innocuous', which is definately my favorite alongside future classic (and already Trash anthem) 'All My Friends'

The new !!! album is due fairly soon, and although it's not as immediately likeable as their previous effort, there are a few notable tracks. I think I need to listen to it a few more times before it all sinks in really, but I'll post up one of the highlights, see what you think

!!! - Bend Over Beethoven [Warp]
Another exciting album coming up is '3615' by french badboys TTC...we've been going crazy for these guys for a long time, and also their solo efforts (especially Para One & Tacteel), so I was foaming at the mouth when I heard about the new album...and mostly, it's pretty damn good. In my opinion its not as good as the first 2 albums, but maybe it needs a few more listens too. My favorite track is actually the non TTC produced 'Une Bande De Mec Sympa' by Modeselektor...c'est fantastique

TTC - Une Bande De Mec Sympa [Big Dada]
Oh yeah, this is also fantastique...but then again it's SMD so you knew that already (or already got it from another blog!)

Simian Mobile Disco - It's The Beat [White]
The SMD full length should arrive sometime before summer, as should the new Justice 12" (and hopefully album...). Get ready for the Faex re-edit of the upcoming 'Phantom' in the next few days as well...dancefloor destruction if I don't say so myself ;)
And now finally, in respect of the late, great Godfather Of Soul, I'm posting this megamix by Salaam Remi. This is quite old (well, the 90's), but in my opinion one of the best out there (alongside the brilliant Coldcut 'Payback Mix' which I'm sure you've heard)...Give it up for the one, the only, Mr. James Brown
